Chinese shipbuilding company surpassed South Korea in single monthly order, ranking first in the world
Clarkson's latest data shows that the global new ship orders in April totaled 1.14 million CGT, which was higher than the 890,000 CGT in March, achieving the second consecutive month of chain growth. Among them, Chinese shipbuilding companies received 38 orders of 730,000 CGTs, accounting for about 64% of the global market, ranking first in the world. South Korean shipping companies received orders for a total of 8 230,000 CGTs, which accounted for about 20% of the global market, ranking second. Russian shipbuilding companies ranked third, taking orders of a total of 7 65,000 CGT, accounting for about 5.7% of the market share. Japan ranked fourth with 25.5 million CGT orders. Since this year, Chinese shipbuilding companies have become the dominant force in the new shipbuilding market. In the first four months of this year, Chinese shipbuilding companies received 61% of new ship orders worldwide, while South Korean shipbuilding companies accounted for only 17% of orders. According to Clarkson's data, the number of orders received by Chinese shipping companies in the first quarter of this year was 1.51 million CGT, accounting for 64.8% of the global market share, ranking first. The second-ranked South Korean shipping company received 360,000 CGT orders, accounting for 15.4% of the market. Japan ranks third with an order volume of 180,000 CGT, accounting for 7.7%. As for hand-held orders, as of the end of April this year, Chinese shipbuilding companies had a total of 26.3 million CGT in hand-held orders, ranking first in the world, a figure lower than the 26.5 million CGT at the end of March. South Korean shipping companies hold 20.77 million CGT orders, ranking second. Japan is third, with a total of 10.48 million CGT orders. |
