Yangtze River Shipbuilding won an order for 2 Kamsarmax bulk carriers
On August 31, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group announced that in addition to SITC International’s order for 6+6 1800TEU container ships, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group also received orders for two 82,000 DWT bulk carriers in August. Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group did not disclose the specific information of the orders for the two bulk carriers. It is reported that the two new ships will be built by Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (YAMIC), a joint venture shipyard between Yangtze River Shipbuilding Group and Mitsui Japan, and will be delivered from June to August 2021. According to the announcement of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group, including the latest orders, the group received a total of 23 orders this year, valued at 700 million US dollars. Among them, Yangtze River Shipbuilding Group’s first-half performance report released on August 5th counted the order volume of 15 ships of 517 million U.S. dollars, while SITC’s container ship order value was 126 million U.S. dollars, which means 2 Kamasarmax. The order value of the type bulk carrier is 57 million US dollars, and the single ship price is 28.5 million US dollars. Just a few days ago, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group and SITC officially signed a contract for the construction of 6+6 1800TEU feeder container ships. This is the fourth contract between the two parties in recent years. The six container ships that have been identified are expected to be delivered from April to October 2022, with a total price of approximately US$126 million and a single ship price of US$21 million. Since the beginning of this year, although the epidemic has hit the new shipbuilding market, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group still maintains a stable number of orders. In the first half of the year, 15 ships received orders of US$517 million, which more than doubled the same period last year. At present, the order volume of 700 million U.S. dollars has completed 47% of the annual target of 1.5 billion U.S. dollars. Analysts predict that Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group is capable of achieving this year’s goal. The group has 1.3 billion US dollars in alternative orders that may be available this year. Confirmed to take effect before the end of the year. |
