Shanghai Shipyard and China Classification Society renew their strategic cooperation agreement

On October 21, Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute under China State Shipbuilding Corporation and China Classification Society held a strategic cooperation agreement signing ceremony. Sun Feng, Vice President of China Classification Society, Chen Shi, Director of Shanghai Institute of Standards, and Lu, Dean of Shanghai Shipbuilding Institute Zhiyong, Party Secretary Wang Lin and others attended the meeting. Lv Zhiyong and Chen Shi signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties.

Lv Zhiyong said that the Shanghai Shipyard will aim to build a world-class intelligent ship general institute, and strive to promote informatization, digitalization and intelligence, and work together with all parties including classification societies to achieve superior R&D and design performance. Reasonable cost, environmentally friendly, and a world-leading ship.

Sun Feng introduced the structure of China Classification Society ship data specification, the functional goals to be achieved by the data specification, and the layout of the data ecology. He hopes to develop in-depth cooperation with the Shanghai Shipyard in data standards, data interfaces, data exchanges, etc. ,the study.

In the fields of ship type development, technical standard formulation, ship design and drawing review, information sharing, talent training, corporate culture construction and other fields, the two parties expressed their willingness to further cooperate, especially the cooperation in 3D design and 3D drawing review will be closer.

During the exchange, the leaders of China Classification Society issued the ship type approval certificate to the shipyard for the three ship types of the 210,000-ton dual-fuel bulk carrier and the 40,000m/80,000m3 A-class LNG carrier jointly developed by the two parties.

It is reported that Shanghai Shipyard and China Classification Society have been strategic partners for many years. The first two strategic cooperation agreements were signed (renewed) in 2013 and 2016.
