CIMC Raffles has launched the world's largest dual-fuel ice-class roll-on ship
The RORO series is 241.7 meters in length, 35.20 meters in width, 5800 meters in lane and 20 KNTS in speed. It meets Finnish-Swedish 1A Super ice class and anti-freezing requirements. In order to meet the requirements of clean and environmental protection, it is also equipped with two 685 cubic C LNG storage tanks, equipped with a more efficient LNG dual-fuel propulsion system. To meet stricter environmental emission standards, the project will join Wallenius Sol as a new force in the European waterway to enhance the operational capacity of the fleet, and will further consolidate the development foundation of CIMC Raffles in the international mainstream high-end Ro/RO market. Since the laying of the keel on June 14, 2020, all 132 sections have been closed and hoisting in only 9 months, and 410,000 meters of cables have been pulled and hoisting in 5 months. More than 24,000 pipes, turbines and outfitting equipment have been basically installed, and the system commissioning has been carried out in an orderly way. During the construction process, CIMC Raffles cooperated with the shipowner-owners, shipowner-surveyors and subcontractors to conscientiously implement the requirements of safe production, actively tackle difficult issues and process improvement, take measures for epidemic prevention and control, and strive for project nodes. After the successful launch of the RORO project, a series of functional tests, including tilt test, LNG refueling and sea trial, will be carried out at the Yantai base dock. |
