The 174,000 cubic meter large floating LIQUEFIED natural gas storage and regasification vessel (LNG FSRU) built by Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., a unit of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, was named TRANSGAS FORCE at zhongchangxing Shipbuilding Base on November 18, five months ahead of the contract date. The ship is a sister ship of Transporter Force delivered in June this year and represents the highest level of construction in the large LNG-FSRU sector in the Chinese shipbuilding industry today.

Spirit of the Transporter is 294 meters in length, 46.95 meters in width, 26.25 meters in main deck depth, 11.6 meters in design draft, 12.5 meters in structure draft, and classified by ABS. With the design concept of "green, environmental protection, low carbon and safety", the ship's comprehensive performance has reached the international advanced level, and equipped with the most complete and optimal equipment, with good reliability, versatility, foresight and economy. Lng-fsru (Floating LNG storage and regasification unit) is a special equipment that integrates the functions of LNG receiving, storage, transfer and regasification. Equipped with a propulsion system, it also functions as an LNG carrier. It is understood that this ship is the most advanced in the world and the first large LNG-FSRU ship built by Hudong Zhonghua for The Greek shipowner. The ship is equipped with high-end equipment and powerful functions, which can be used as a long-term docking station or a seasonal peak loading station. It is a one-stop solution for global LNG import.
In October 2017, CSSC signed a financing lease contract with Dynagas of Greece for two 174,000 cubic meters OF LNG-FSRUs (floating LIQUEFIED natural Gas storage and regasification units), and the two LNG-FSRUs were delivered to Hudong Zhonghua for construction. This is also the first LNG-FSRU order for a Chinese company. The first ship, TRANSGAS POWER, was delivered in July this year, and the Spirit of the Transporter is the last in a series of two ships.
