SSC Chengxi delivers the second asphalt ship of COSCO Shipping Special
On the morning of July 5, CSSC Chengxi successfully named the 2,500-ton asphalt ship “Ronghua Bay” built for COSCO Shipping Special Transportation Co., Ltd. The ship was tested on the sea on April 20, 2018. The speed was up to 14.2 knots according to the ISO standard. The actual ship speed was slightly better than the design requirements. The ship's rapid performance reached the advanced level in the same type of ship; based on the ship's good speed and fuel consumption. Level, the ship's actual ship finally verified that EEDI meets the requirements of IMO Phase 3. The ship's propeller is also equipped with an energy-saving hub cap. The energy-saving device similar to what we call the vortex fins can ensure that the power received by the propeller is reduced by 1 to 3%. In addition, the ship is different from other types of asphalt ships. The tank insulation and insulation uses a degradable, low-bio-sustainable fiber blanket. The single vessel can reduce the weight by about 15 tons, meeting the requirements of green environmental protection and light weight.
The “Ronghua Bay” is the second ship of four 7500-ton new asphalt ships co-operated by COSCO SHIPPING and China Shipbuilding Chengxi Shipyard. After the delivery of Hu, it will be managed by Hainan COSCO Shipping Asphalt Transportation Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of COSCO Shipping. This type of vessel meets the operational requirements of most domestic and international refinery terminals and unloading port terminals. It is suitable for both short-distance asphalt transportation and long-distance transportation needs. It will effectively enhance the long-distance freight of COSCO maritime transport in special routes, especially Singapore. South Korea to Australia, New Zealand, Oceania Island countries, Singapore, Thailand to China's northern port routes competitive advantage. |
