Big Ship Group and Mitsui Marine signed FPSO project strategic cooperation agreement
The cooperation between the Big Ship Group and Mitsui Marine began in 2010. As of 2016, 43 modules were successfully delivered to Mitsui Marine, and the quality of the products was highly evaluated by Mitsui Marine. With the deepening of cooperation between the two parties, Mitsui Marine awarded the FPSO Guanabara MV31 hull demolition, modification, module manufacturing and module installation project to the Big Boat Group as a whole, which fully demonstrated the trust of Mitsui Marine in the design and construction quality of the Big Ship Group. This is the first time that the industry has commissioned the entire FPSO modification project to be built by the same shipyard. In response to the international oil company's demand for new FPSO hulls and the development of a new FPSO market, Mitsui Marine and the Big Ship Group signed a cooperation development memorandum on March 8, 2018. The two parties will jointly develop a universal type suitable for multiple offshore oil fields. FPSO (M350 type), used in the future Mitsui Marine as a general contractor to bid for a new FPSO project, and the Big Ship Group as a subcontractor is responsible for designing and constructing the hull and living module parts. At present, the front-end design scheme of this type of FPSO has been completed, which can meet the needs of the previous bidding. The two parties are participating in the bidding of several new FPSO projects. The two sides are still deepening and perfecting this type of design. The signing of this strategic cooperation agreement has established a close cooperation relationship between the Big Ship Group and Mitsui Marine in the future to build new, modified FPSO and upper module construction projects, to achieve strong alliance and lay a solid foundation for jointly exploring the international FPSO market.
