Daewoo Shipbuilding launches 170,000 m3 LNG ship for Flex LNG
On January 5th, a new 173,400 cubic meter LNG ship (hull number 2450) built by Korea Daewoo Shipbuilding for Flex LNG was officially launched. The new vessel will be named "Flex Resolute", a two-stroke vessel equipped with a low-pressure X-DF engine, equipped with a full re-liquefaction system (FRS), with an evaporation rate as low as 0.035%. The ship is expected to be delivered to operation in the third quarter of 2020. It is understood that Flex LNG is an LNG shipping company owned by Norwegian ship king John Fredriksen. Currently, Flex LNG is constructing two 173,400 cubic meters of LNG vessels at Daewoo Shipbuilding, including the "Flex Resolute" and another "Flex Artemis". The "Flex Artemis" is scheduled to be delivered in August 2020 and will be leased by Gunvor on a long-term basis. |
