Hudong Zhonghua signed a contract for the construction of another 174,000 m3 LNG carrier with China Shipping Rental Corporation
Mr. Hu Kai, General Manager of China Shipbuilding (Hong Kong) Lying Co., Ltd., Mr. Chen Jun, General Manager of Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., and Mr. Chi Benbin, Deputy General Manager of Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., attended the signing ceremony. Teng Fei of CSSC and Chi Benbin of Hudong Zhonghua signed the contract on behalf of both parties. Hudong Zhonghua has upgraded its technology on the original basis. The total length of the vessel is 295 meters, the width is 45 meters, the depth is 26.25 meters, and the speed is 19.5 kt. It is the fourth generation of XDF dual-fuel propulsion LNG carrier in the world with 174,000 m3. The vessel will be equipped with a 1.5 t/h reliquefied system to achieve a wide range of speed vaporized gas balance in different operating modes, and can be flexibly adapted to various long and short routes around the world. The propulsion system will further optimize the configuration of the main engine and propeller matching, achieve comprehensive energy consumption reduction, reduce 6 tons of CO2 per day, and practice the concept of low carbonization. The order is part of a total of 36 new shipbuilding contracts signed by China State Shipbuilding Group in Beijing in 2019 and is scheduled to be delivered in 2021. Under the correct leadership of the Communist Party of China, Hudong Zhonghua has stayed true to its original aspiration. Over the past 20 years, Hudong Zhonghua has worked hard to become the only large-scale LNG carrier builder in China from zero to now. It has been constantly challenging itself and innovating to build an all-round LNG industry chain. Out of an independent research and development, independent innovation, completely independent design and construction of large LNG carrier extraordinary road. Hudong Zhonghua has rich experience in the design and construction of LNG carriers, and has repeatedly created the excellent performance of single cabin and single layer zero leakage point. The construction technology has reached the world advanced level, and it is the only company in the industry that builds No.96 and Mark III LNG carriers simultaneously. Up to now, we have successfully delivered 25 LNG vessels, which has made remarkable achievements and won high recognition from the shipowners.
