No. 2 ship of 400,000 tons of ore ship was named and delivered by Wuchuan Group
On July 10, following the delivery of the world's largest new 400,000-ton super-large ore ship in March, Wuchuan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. built a 400,000-ton ore ship No. 2 ship for China Merchants Energy Transportation Co., Ltd. in the north. Ding Lei, member of the Party Committee of China Merchants Energy Transportation Co., Ltd. and general manager of Hong Kong Minghua Shipping Co., Ltd., Cai Yiyi, deputy general manager of China Shipbuilding Industry International Co., Ltd., and Han Bing, general manager of Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. The tripartite representatives jointly signed the handover agreement. The delivery and naming ceremony of No. 2 ship of 400,000 DWT ore ship was presided over by Han Bing, General Manager of Beichuan Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., General Manager of Wuchuan Group, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Beichuan Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., Yu Fengping, Director of Economic Operation Department of CSIC, and Investment Promotion Zhou Song, deputy chief accountant of the bureau group, delivered a speech. As the naming person, Zhou Song named the "Minghui" round for the No. 2 ship. Ms. Li Haiping, accompanied by Zhou Song and Yu Fengping, cut the cable and knocked champagne for the "Minghui" round.
Introduction to Minghui Wheel
“Minghui” is one of the four new 400,000-ton super-large ore vessels built by the North Shipbuilding Industry of Wushu Group for the China Merchants Bureau. It is also a joint venture with the Shanghai Ship Design and Research Institute. It actively responds to the shipowners’ desire to improve the capacity structure in the current market environment. A new generation of products jointly developed to reduce costs and enhance competitiveness. The vessel is tailor-made for Vale and has the characteristics of “energy saving, environmental protection, green efficiency, safety and reliability”. The captain is 362 meters long, 65 meters wide and 30.4 meters deep. The self-weight reaches 54.200 tons and the full-load displacement is 454,000 tons. The “Minghui” was closed in the dock on September 21, 2017, and the trial was completed on June 12, 2018. During the trial period, more than 50 test items such as speed measurement, steering gear test, unmanned cabin test, large swing test and shaft load measurement were all qualified, and the overall performance was unanimously recognized and praised by the shipowners and LR and CCS classification societies. At present, the eight 400,000-ton ore sand vessels undertaken by the company have been completed and delivered. By the end of 2018, five ships will be delivered and the last one will be delivered in 2019.
