According to the latest statistics of clarkson (as of March 15, 2019), 30 new orders of 819,264 CGT were signed globally in February, 2019. Compared with 99 new orders signed globally in January 2019, a total of 2384815CGT, the number dropped by 69 compared with the previous month, and the revised gross tonnage dropped by 65.65% compared with the previous month. Japanese shipyard received 2 vessels with a total of 2794. Korean shipyard received 8 vessels, totaling 630,186 CGT. Revised gross tonnage accounted for 10.73 per cent, 3.41 per cent and 76.92 per cent of global new ship orders, respectively. From January to February 2019, 129 new ship orders with a total deadweight ton of 8789,250 were placed. Compared with 402 new orders signed in the same period of 2018, with a total deadweight ton of 21403,590, the number of new ships and deadweight ton dropped by 67.91% and 58.94%, respectively, year-on-year. From the ship type, 24 bulk carriers, a total of 2899,000 deadweight tons; 15 oil tankers, totaling 3665,000 deadweight tons; Five chemical ships, totaling 84,050 deadweight tons; 26 container ships with a total of 72,506 teus; 17 liquefied natural gas vessels, totaling 2070,100 cubic meters; 17 Marine engineering ships, a total of 40,940cgt; Other 25 vessels, total 468,266 CGT.
