Zhoushan Changshi Shipbuilding has received an order for two 66,000 tonne bulk carriers from ORIX
The new vessel will use the latest TESS66 Aeroline design developed by Changshi Shipbuilding, which is the first time that the vessel has been ordered by the owner. The TESS66 Aeroline Bulk Carrier meets the Ship Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) Phase III requirements and has a payload capacity of approximately 66,000 tonnes. It is characterized by an approximately 20% reduction in wind resistance through a streamlined design of the bow and accommodation. Orix was founded in 1964, originally operating in Japan as a second-hand ship charter business, and began to finance ships on an international scale in the first half of the 1970s.
