Yangfan Group delivers the largest steam roll ship independently developed by European shipowners in China

On October 19, 2020, Zhejiang East Coast Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yangfan Group Co., Ltd., built a 7800-park car roll-on-roller (PCTC) series ship "GRANDE FLORIDA" for Italian shipowner Grimaldi Group. (Ship number GM05) officially signed and delivered.

The ship is the fifth ship successfully delivered to the same owner after the successful delivery of the previous series of ship "GRANDE NEW JERSEY" (ship number GM04) in September. The successful delivery of the ship was once again 47 days later. It demonstrates the efficient and pragmatic modern shipbuilding management model of Yangfan Group and its spirit of unity, pragmatism, innovation and excellence. This series of ship types is independently developed, designed and built by Yangfan Group. It is also the largest ro-ro car independently developed and built by domestic shipyards so far. It has the characteristics of safety and environmental protection, high loading and unloading efficiency, high stability, less ballast, and low fuel consumption. The structure above the main deck adopts advanced flexible design, and the cargo hold has no transverse bulkheads, which is at the leading level among similar international ships.

At the signing ceremony, the shipowner and the representatives of the classification society fully affirmed the construction technology and quality of the ship. In the context of the current sharp rebound of the new crown epidemic in Europe and the strengthening of domestic Qingdao epidemic prevention and control measures, Yangfan Group has faced difficulties, maintained close communication and cooperation with all parties, and worked together through storms and hardships, stabilized production, and secured nodes. The project progressed in a safe, stable and orderly manner and was successfully delivered to the ship.

The ship has a total length of 199.9 meters, a molded width of 36.45 meters, a molded depth of 34.27 meters, a design draft of 8 meters, and a 12-layer car deck, which has the flexibility and versatility to load various large vehicles; the 12-layer deck has a total area of 62,000 square meters Meters, the unfolded area is equivalent to the size of 12 standard football fields, and it can actually load 7,800 cars. Install a number of energy-saving and environmental protection devices such as desulfurization tower and ballast water treatment system, built in accordance with the classification standards of the Italian RINA classification society, and meet the requirements of Green Passport and IMO EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index), with safety, environmental protection, and high loading and unloading efficiency , High stability, less ballast, and low fuel consumption.
