The CM-SD1000 mid-deep water semi-submersible drilling platform adopts the world's highest-level R6 mooring system. The ultra-high-strength 12-point mooring system with its own mooring chain can be quickly laid in a depth of 600 meters, which can adapt to global sea operations; The platform adopts the integrated application of multifunctional and efficient drilling system, which can increase the efficiency by nearly 30% compared with conventional drilling equipment. The development of the SD1000 medium and deep water drilling platform project officially started construction in October 2018, and the construction was completed in 4 years. After the "Deep Blue Discovery" has completed the final commissioning work at the Haimen Base of China Merchants Industry, it will be delivered to COSL in 2021 to go to the South China Sea to conduct exploration operations and gradually replace the old operating platform.
