Hanhai 5, China's largest direct river-sea container ship, has made its maiden voyage in Wuhan
The ship is 139.8 meters long, 26 meters wide, 11.5 meters deep, and 6.9 meters in draft. It has a maximum load of 16,338 tons and a container capacity of 1,124 TEUs. Different from the previous four "Hanhai" series of ships, the ship is a new type of ship built according to the new specifications and standards between river ships and sea ships, with low energy consumption, small environmental pollution, and less occupation of waterway province and dock. Compared with ordinary container ships, "Hanhai No. 5" has doubled the volume of containers, reduced the average daily fuel consumption of a single container by more than 23% compared with the ships on the current route, and reduced the container transport cost by more than 30%. The ship trial results show that "Hanhai 5" has the advantages of advanced design, flexible handling, small revolving radius, and the characteristics and advantages of turning around and moving laterally to berthing in complex inland river sections. "Hanhai No. 5" is mainly operated on a specific container direct route between Wuhan and Shanghai Haiyangshan Port. It realizes the biweekly operation (one week for export and one week for import). "Hanhai No. 5" was put into operation, marking that Wuhan Xingang Datong International Shipping Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Huazhong Port and Aviation Group, has the third high-quality shipping line, after the Jinyang asphalt transportation international route and the Hanya liner route. Hu Xiangjian, deputy general manager of Wuhan Port Development Group, said that "Hanhai No.5" is the demonstration ship built by Wuhan Port Development Group and Central China Port and Shipping Group to implement the national strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, promote the structural adjustment of ship transport capacity and industrial transformation and upgrading, and devote great efforts to build a specific route river-sea direct container ship. Hubei Port and Shipping Bureau said that the special route from Wuhan to Yangshan, river and sea is of great significance for building Wuhan into a hub port in the central region and boosting Hubei into an international and domestic double-cycle supply chain and industrial chain. |
