Zhoushan Changshi has launched its first 42,000-ton bulk carrier
The first TESS42 bulk carrier (SS268) built by Changshi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding Co., Ltd was launched on February 1.
"TESS42" bulk carrier is about 180 meters long, 32.4 meters wide, 15.4 meters deep, with a deadweight of 42,000 tons, a cargo capacity of 52,400 cubic meters, a full-load draft of 10.75 meters, and a gross tonnage of 26,700 tons.
With the development of Asian economy and the increasing demand for cargo transportation, Changshi Shipbuilding developed this type of timber and bulk cargo carrier. "TESS42" improves the transportation capacity while retaining the flexibility of "TESS38", which is a new type of ship to meet the demand for large and convenient ships.
"TESS42" follows the design concept of "TESS38". Under the condition of the same draft depth, the load capacity is increased by about 2,000 tons, and the load capacity is increased by about 4,000 tons at full load, and the transportation efficiency is significantly improved. The TESS42 is capable of carrying both bulk and timber due to the fixed lacing equipment required for lumber loading standard on the deck. Like "TESS38", "TESS42" also carries four deck cranes, large hatch cover opening area, and adopts the semi-box cargo compartment suitable for transporting steel products, thus achieving high versatility.
The vessel complies with NOX Tier III standards. In order to meet the requirements of SOX emission control regulations, scrubber devices are installed to improve environmental performance. In addition, the ship type is optimized on the basis of the "TESS38" ship type, achieving excellent sailing efficiency. "TESS42" is also equipped with the latest electronically controlled engine. Compared with "TESS38", under the premise of the same draft depth and sailing speed, the fuel consumption per ton mile can be reduced by more than 4%, greatly extending the range. It is a new ship type with high environmental protection and high practicability.
"TESS42" ship model not only gives play to its convenience, but also has high transport capacity and versatility. The successful completion of the ship marks the further expansion of the product line-up of Changshi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.
