On October 26, Shanghai Shipbuilding Research and Design Institute of China and The East China Sea Salvage Bureau of the Ministry of Transport held a design contract signing ceremony for 4000kW medium-sized ocean salvage ship (2-5#). Chen Chuanquan, director of the East China Sea Rescue Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, Zhang Rongjun, Deputy director of the East China Sea Rescue Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, Lv Zhiyong, president of the Institute, Wang Lin, Party secretary of the Institute and other officials attended the signing ceremony.

The 4000kW medium-sized ocean rescue ship (2-5#) signed this time is an optimized and finalized ship following the first production ship of "Donghai Rescue 151" independently developed and designed by The Shipboard Yard. As a representative of high-performance and intelligent ocean rescue ship, the ship will be used for life saving and ship rescue in complex waters under low and medium sea conditions, and take into account rescue tasks under high sea conditions, and participate in dynamic on-duty standby work of salvage system.

According to the information of the international Ship network, this project will build 4 medium-sized ocean rescue ships, the bidding price of the design is 13.99 million YUAN, the estimated construction price is 735 million yuan. This project built ship hull form for all welded steel hull, forecastle, streamlined ship bow, has a long cruiser ship stern, with a continuous layer and large ship stern deck, main deck double hull structure of the Marine rescue ship, ship design area for world-wide, ship principal dimensions of about 69.5 m * 14.6 m * 6.9 m (length x width x type deep), Design draft is 4.4 meters, full load draft is 5.2 meters, light load draft is 4.0 meters (South type) /4.2 meters (North type), design speed is not less than 15 knots, endurance is 5000 nautical miles, self-sustaining force is 30 days, with DP2 dynamic positioning capability and level 1 external fire fighting capability, single ship capacity is 36 people (24 crew members, 12 crew members), It can carry 100 rescued people. The northern type is grade B2 ice enhancement, while the southern type is Grade B ice enhancement.

The 4000kW medium-sized ocean rescue ship is the key ship type planned and built by the Ministry of Transport centering on the national "Transportation power" strategy and the "Belt and Road" initiative, aiming at building a world-class modern professional rescue and salvage system. It is a new generation of Marine rescue weapon. The r & D design of the ship type will further improve the strategic planning layout of China's maritime rescue distance "long, medium and short", and rescue ship type "large, medium and small". It is understood that this batch of ships will be configured in the North Sea rescue bureau (North type 1), the East China Sea rescue bureau (South type 1), the South China Sea rescue bureau (South type 2).
